71st Venice International Film Festival Highlights Day 2

It was that time of year again when Venice played host to the best actors from Hollywood and the world.

Everyone’s favorite style icon Emma Stone unveiled a gorgeous new bob, and went back to the hair color she is best known for: red. Her choice of an elegant high-waisted, dark-green tulle gown from the Valentino Couture collection for Autumn 2014, coupled with Jimmy Choo shoes, shows exactly why she is the darling of fashion. She was in town with Michael Keaton and Edward Norton to promote her new film, Birdman. The comedy-drama was selected to open the festival, and was in competition for the coveted Golden Lion.

Other guests from the entertainment and movie industry also made appearances, including: Amy Ryan, Tim Roth, Andrew Garfield, Ramin Bahrani, Michael Shannon, Owen Wilson, Kathryn Hahn, Louise Stratten and historian Peter Bogdanovich.

The Golden Lion award for Best Film went to Swedish film A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence by Roy Andersson.

The 71st Venice International Film Festival at Venice Lido was organized by La Biennale di Venezia and aims to raise awareness of and promote international cinema and the achievements of individuals who contribute to the arts.
