Stars Premiere Their Films at the 71st Venice International Film Festival

Fashion One continues its coverage of the 71st Venice International Film Festival held at Venice Lido. One of the world's most prestigious film festivals, it continued to attract the creme of the motion picture production industry. Emma Stone, Michael Keaton and Edward Norton were on the red carpet to promote the film Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu, the much praised director of Amores Perros (2000), 21 Grams (2003) and Babel (2006). González Iñárritu tackles the comedy genre with Birdman which depicts Michael Keaton's struggles to put his life back together in the days leading up to the premiere of his new Broadway show.

Director Ramin Bahrani, along with cast members Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon were on hand for the premiere of 99 Homes, which was selected to compete for the Golden Lion, the highest prize given to a film at the Festival. 99 Homes depicts a father’s efforts to return to the home that his family was evicted from by working for the greedy real estate broker who caused him to be evicted.

The premiere of Peter Bogdanovich’s new film, the screwball-romantic farce She’s Funny That Way saw the director joined by co-writer Louise Stratten and cast members Owen Wilson and Kathryn Hahn. Another competitor for the Golden Lion was Manglehorn, an American drama directed by David Gordon Green, starring Al Pacino and Holly Hunter. Al Pacino was a prominent figure that day, joining the Manglehorn cast on the red carpet and then later joining the cast of The Humbling, an erotic drama film directed by Barry Levinson.
