Winona Ryder and Burberry on the Fashion Frontline

Fashion Frontline brings another fashion, entertainment and lifestyle update!

At 42, Winona Ryder is the face of premium denim brand Rag & Bone’s Fall 2014 collection. The actress, who has starred in a host of edgy films since the 1980s, is shot in gritty black and white for the label’s womenswear campaign. Brand director Marcus Wainwright says Ryder was chosen for her “beautiful, timeless quality.’’ He added, “To us, Winona Ryder is a bona-fide icon. One of the things that makes her so cool is that although she has this incredible career, she isn’t interested in being a movie star. For her it’s all about the craft.”

Burberry shareholders raised concerns about the controversial package offered Chief Executive Christopher Bailey, who is set to receive shares worth 26 million pounds. His new pay agreement includes a 1.1 million-pound basic salary and a 400,000 pound yearly allowance. Shareholders have also questioned a one-off, performance-based grant of 500,000 shares. Last week the Institutional Voting Information Service, a shareholder advisory group, issued an amber warning ahead of the shareholders’s general meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, is planning to build a temperature-controlled city featuring the world's largest mall and indoor park. Sheikh Mohammed hopes the Mall of the World will attract more than 180 million visitors annually.

Scarlett Johansson has won a defamation lawsuit against french novelist Grégoire Delacourt. In his novel, La Premiere Chose qu'On Regarde (The First Thing We Look At), Delacourt tells the story of a French model, the doppelgänger of the American actress. Johansson was far from flattered by the work, calling it through her lawyer a “violation and fraudulent depiction.”
