Net-a-Porter’s limited edition Karl Lagerfeld Barbie doll has sold out within hours of its release. Dressed in black skinny jeans, a white high-collared shirt and iconic black sunglasses, the doll retailed at $200 and is already fetching online re-sales of up to $3,500. Designer Stella McCartney also launched an exclusive collection this week: a hot pink lingerie line in support of breast cancer awareness, and if buyers needed extra persuasion to purchase underwear in such a good cause, then images of Kate Moss wearing the creations shouldn’t do any harm.

British supermodel and actress Naomi Campbell has landed a major recurring role in US hit drama Empire, as Camilla – a seductress who will shake things up in the hip hop empire. Singer, actress and fashion icon Rihanna is rumored to be appearing in the next 007 movie. There is further speculation that Rihanna will also sing the theme song for the latest film, set to be released in November 2015.

Italian fashion designer Miuccia Prada and her husband, CEO of the Prada group, have come under scrutiny from the Italian tax authorities. The couple deny charges of tax evasion, pointing out that they made a voluntary disclosure of their earnings in 2013 which completely satisfied the authorities.

British designer and former creative director of Givenchy and Christian Dior, John Galliano is apparently having discussions with “multiple brands” regarding a return to the fashion industry. Galliano, who was dismissed in 2011 for anti-Semitic remarks, is rumored to be in talks with haute couture house Maison Martin Margiela.
