The Los Angeles fourth season premiere of American Horror Story: Freak Show was a glamorous affair, with main cast members Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson walking the red carpet. Lea Michele, Amanda Peet, Jane Lynch and Angela Bassett also attended in support for the show.

Long-awaited period drama Effie Gray, starring Dakota Fanning and British actor Tom Sturridge, finally premiered in London. The script was written by actress Emma Thompson, who also stars in the film, and was delayed due to claims of plagiarism. The story is about a 19th century British love triangle. Fanning revealed that she had always wanted to do a period film, and that the script having been written by Emma Thompson was a big draw for her.

Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds recently announced that they are expecting a baby with no news on the due date as yet.

Emily Blunt attended the BFI film festival in London, saying, “I think it’s a great night to celebrate British film and support it, because it’s something that needs supporting and can dwindle at times. I think it’s so integral to our culture, and how people perceive us is, a lot of the time, through our films.”

Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley attended the press junket of their highly anticipated film The Imitation Game, with Cumberbatch addressing the Oscar buzz his performance has generated. “If it creates an interest for people to see this film and what the fuss is about then that’s fantastic” he said. The gala opening premiere of the movie was also held in London.
