Going Interstellar

Matthew McConaughey’s new film Interstellar held its star-studded premieres in both Los Angeles and London. In LA McConaughey looked dapper in a maroon suit, and co-stars Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain upped the glam factor in gorgeous gowns, while they were joined by Michael Caine and director Christopher Nolan at the London premiere.

BAFTA held its second annual Breakthrough Brits event in London to help promote rising stars in the British entertainment world. Jamie Campbell-Bower, of Twilight fame, Clara Paget, from The Fast and the Furious 6, Sam Claflin, from Pirates of the Caribbean and Hunger Games series, as well as Katie Leung, who played Harry Potter’s love interest Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, were all present at the event.

Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones were in LA for the premiere of Stephen Hawking biopic, The Theory of Everything. Redmayne spoke about meeting his real life counterpart. “For me, when I met him, the quality that punched through was this mischief. He has a kind of ‘lord of misrule’ quality; he’s incredibly funny, deeply witty, and trying to bring that element to him – he’s got such a glint in his eye – that was the bit that I enjoyed the most,” he revealed.

Sir Ian McKellen, widely known for his roles as Gandalf and Magneto, received the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of his work for gay rights.
