Opening Ceremony’s New Creations & Vivienne Westwood Designs for Muppets



Opening Ceremony's Upcoming Collaborations!
American brand Opening Ceremony designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are set to release a capsule collection of ready-to-wear with the Magritte Foundation, to debut at London Fashion Week. It is the first time the non-profit foundation, which honors the work of Belgian surrealist artist Rene Magritte, has worked with a fashion brand. Carol Lim praised the work of the influential artist and revealed that the collection would also involve three footwear brands - Manolo Blahnik, Birkenstocks and Vans. The designers also announced that a luxury smart bracelet developed with technology company Intel was still on track for a release later in the year.

Chris Pine for Armani Code
American actor Chris Pine, most famous for his roles in the Star Trek reboot, has been chosen as the face of new Giorgio Armani fragrance Code. Personally selected by Giorgio Armani, the designer praised the actor as perfectly embodying "...the brand's spirit with his strong charisma and natural elegance", Giorgio Armani went on to praise the actors talent, versatility and innate charm.

Vivienne Westwood vs The Muppets
Punk fashion creator and iconoclastic British designer Vivienne Westwood has been commissioned to design the wedding dress for cult character Miss Piggy in the upcoming Muppets Most Wanted feature film. The wedding, filmed in the iconic Tower of London, will see Miss Peggy saunter down the aisle in an an ivory hued wedding gown that features corset detailing and embellishments made from recycled plastic bottles. In addition the designer has created a couture Harris Tweed houndstooth coat and matching beret for the green frog groom Kermit.
