Alexis Mabille Brings Us Sexy Night Flowers From His Haute Couture Show in Paris

Alexis Mabille talks about his work and his job creating clothes for women and how he considers the female form before embellishing his garments, and even the models’ make up, with “sparkles in the right place” drawing attention to the eyes and necks. Models’ also wore ostrich plumes woven into their hair which fluttered as they walked.

The show featured several gorgeous gowns with flowing capes in single deep rich colors: purple, green and blue and a shocking pink jumpsuit accented with fiery red. There was also a floral theme, with large flower motifs appearing on skirts and across dresses, embellished with sequins and embroidery. Mabille described the flowers as venomous, “carnivore flowers” and there was certainly nothing soft about the bold and sexy collection.

There was a mix of soft tailoring with flowing loose skirts and capes and a range of unique collars and necklines. A tuxedo kimono that looks at first glance like an all-over poppy print is in fact appliquéd chiffon over sequins with embroidery and a statement oversized slanted bow wrapped around the body of a simple white strapless gown. The color palette was wide with black, white and powder pink also featuring amongst the deep exotic midnight flower tones.
