Veronica De La Canal Pasarela Punta del Este 2014This week Fashion One covers Veronica de la Canal’s collection during Latin America Fashion Week, held at the Conrad Punta del Este Resort & Casino in Uruguay. This year Argentina, Columbia, Chile, Spain, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Honduras are the countries represented at this resort.
Veronica de la Canal’s collection opens with a model wearing a retro one-piece lycra Charcoal Black bathing suit with full-length Gold Lame cover-up with a Snow White, Fern Green and Falu Red floral liner. Next up is a Cornsilk color sleeveless shimmy-shake mini dress with front zipper and long fringes all the way round the peekaboo hem done in Floral White. This little number has a modest neckline and matching fringes from the top of the shoulder. The upper bodice is smudged with Dust Storm and the straps are trimmed with a small fringe of lace.
Hairdresser Claudia Gutierrez explains her techniques in braiding and pinning the hair of the models for the show.
Next up is a stunning full-length strapless evening gown with crinoline accents from mid-thigh to hem. This form fitting dress is done in breathtaking silk with bead accents and Cosmic Latte color.
And just when you thought the show couldn’t get any better, out comes a model in a daring sheer Crimson color full-length dress with silk bodice, spaghetti straps and plunging neckline. A flesh tone would be unseemly whereby the blush of lust makes things less racy and yet more daring.
A full-length scoop necked hip-hugging gown that starts out looking Baby Powder in color butslow gains color towards the hem with gradients of Coral, Congo Pink and finally Cinnabar color. A large white rose with red and pink ribbons graces the model’s right shoulder. This garment is truly smashing and the hit of the collection.
Veronica describes her collection as ‘sexy’ and ‘very feminine’. No one can take issue with these pronouncements. This is one of the nicest, most fashionable collections exhibited at the show.
