ELEGANT PICKS OF THE WEEK
So if there is one thing I love in this world is looking like a princes, choose the right dress and you will never go wrong but choose the wrong one then you will be the worst dressed.
There are some designs that caught my eye previously from the red carpets of Hollywood to the catwalks of Africa and this is what I give you.
First up, is our South Africa born Hollywood favorite at the Met a gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has always won our hearts each time she walks on the red carpet in her long elegant dresses and her short hair look. She never really goes wrong, here she spots a white Dior gown with black ribbon-like vertical stripes.
Apart from the being the current best Villain of the Disney world, this lovely lady never disappoints when she walks on the red carpet. Even when dressed in funk this lovely lady never goes wrong.
At the Los Angeles premiere of Maleficent, She managed to bring a funky look which she managed to make look elegant and lady like, as she was dressed in a black strapless Atelier Versace gown with its dramatic gathering at the waist and accessorized edgy spiked jewelry.
From our Disney villain to our Cinderella story of sex and the city, known as Sarah Jessica Parker at the met a gala ball, the dress code was a white tie and decorations.
Sarah who was also the assistant chair at the event did not just nail the dress code but she went out of her way to make sure that she stood out and looked effortlessly stylish and like a princess indeed.
In her black-and-white Oscar de la Renta signed gown with its peplum petals and train, Sarah looked priceless as she walked on the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Being the queen of style that she is, she added some elegant white diamond encrusted gloves.
She did a hair up do with some floral accents, who wouldn't want this look. I would.
My other favorite pick for this week is two amazing dresses I picked from the runways of South Africa Fashion week pictures courtesy of Simon Deiner / SDR Photo.
From the MBFW, the Featured designers represent some of the best of African collections from across the continent and the Diaspora. The event was hosted in the City of Tshwane, the African capital of excellence, rich in cultural heritage.
If there is one thing I am always in love with is the pretty school girl look dress with emphasize on the waist, pleated skirt and the neat round shape collar.
I also tend to believe that this specific dress is an all-weather dress, whether it is summer, spring, autumn or winter, one could always make it work.
The all-white dress stylish and trendy dress, I would go for an all-white dress any time of the day. It shows elegance, and a sense of sweet innocence.
The highlight on the waist with a small stylish belt and embellishments on upper part of the dress just makes it one amazing chic dress.
