Donna Distefano recently celebrated her 20th anniversary. For two decades this amazing woman shared her talent and vision with the world, but her road to an award winning jeweler and goldsmith began long before. At the age of ten she opened her first “studio“ in her mom’s garage. That is where she could nurture her interest and love for music, art, theater, making puppets and other handcrafts. After taking few classes on jewelry making at the University of Bridgeport she knew what her life’s call will be.

Donna’s Italian heritage can be sensed in her designs. As a senior craftsman for the Metropolitan Museum of Art she created reproductions of pieces from ancient Greece, Egypt and Italy. Today, Donna Distefano’s atelier is a center of luxury where jewelry is carefully handcrafted and made using goldsmith techniques endured for centuries. She is environmentally conscious and her goal is to save antique style, resonate today and persevere into the future. Inspired by nature, glass objects and carved wood she continues to make exciting colorful jewelry.
