ZARA SS’17 COLLECTION

Zara’s Spring Summer 17 Collection draws inspirations from ideas and imagery associated with art. In collaboration with American fashion photographer Steven Meisel and his team, Zara’s design teams worked closely with them to create image-related and iconic pieces on oversized looks, unstructured silhouettes, flowing volumes and corsets with the underpinning common thread of ribbons, all of which using fine materials: cotton, cashmere, wool and silk.

The SS17 Women’s Collection is part of Zara’s new ballerina inspired campaign, and features garments borrowed from boys, oversized pieces, boxy crop tops, layered shirts, sheer dresses and cashmere sweaters combined with flirty skirts over leggings. The pieces can be easily matched with ballet flats or pumps, creating various looks of a ballerina after an incredible performance.

Defined by eccentricity and versatility, the SS17 Zara Men’s Collection narrates the journey of the traveler exploring the world in search for new Exciting Territories. The collection accentuates the seasonal trends, and brings them together in unconventional ways; integrating sportswear with tailoring, layers and accessories using the mix of high-end fabrics with nylon, poplin and fine knitwear.

Both women and men collections share color palettes grounded in classic hues of warm neutrals – with white, navy and black continuing their role as a core color. Energized and charged with intense splashes of bright pink, red and purple, the warm canvas acts as a unique and contrasting blend, showing off a cool yet feminine approach to summer styles.

The application of the subversive and unexpected combinations of vibrant, bold and clashing tones, particularly seen in its playful rendition of pinks and reds, makes an emphatic and audacious statement for the commercial season ahead.
